A coating fails at the bond, so most of the work is preparation. We grind the slab, repair cracks and pits, check moisture, then build the floor in layers: base coat, colour flake, clear topcoat. You choose the base colour and the flake blend.

How a job goes
Grind
A diamond grinder opens the concrete so the coating grips it. Thin coatings over unprepared concrete are what lift under hot tires.
Repair and test
Cracks and spalls are filled. Moisture is checked, especially in basements, because water vapour pushing up can break the bond.
Base and flake
The base coat goes down, then flake is broadcast by hand until the colour is fully covered.
Topcoat
A clear topcoat locks the flake in, adds wear resistance and makes the floor easy to sweep and mop.

What matters in the Triangle
Humidity and dew point
Coatings need the slab to sit above the dew point while they cure. Humid Triangle mornings can make that the deciding factor, so we schedule by conditions.
Cure and use
Light foot traffic comes first and heavy use after. Exact times depend on the system and temperature, and we give you the real schedule when we quote.
Basements
Basement slabs can carry moisture. We test before we coat and we will tell you if a floor is not a good candidate.
Patios and sun
Standard epoxy can yellow in direct sun. Outdoor and sunny areas need a UV-stable topcoat. We specify one for those surfaces.
Common questions
How long does an epoxy floor last?
It depends on prep, moisture, product and how the floor is used. We do not promise a number of years. We explain the system we use and how it is warranted when we quote.
Can I park on it the next day?
Usually not. Foot traffic comes sooner than vehicles. We give you a specific window for your product and weather.
Is it slippery when wet?
Flake adds texture, and we can add an anti-slip additive in the topcoat for garages, entries and pool areas. Tell us where the wet spots are.
